The following is the full text of the joint statement.
The leaders of the Republic of Korea, the United States of America, and Japan commemorate the remarkable progress achieved in trilateral cooperation over the past year since our historic summit.
The spirit of the Korea-U.S.-Japan summit continues to inspire us, and the principles established at Camp David serve as our roadmap for unprecedented cooperation. We are working together to achieve our shared goals of advancing regional and global security and prosperity.
We remain committed to consultations on regional challenges, provocations, and threats that affect our common interests and security.
We reaffirm our resolve to enhance security cooperation linked by the ironclad Korea-U.S. alliance and U.S.-Japan alliance, further align our shared economic and technological priorities, promote cooperation on global health initiatives, and expand robust people-to-people ties.
Over the past year, through close consultations and coordination on priorities in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond, we have clearly demonstrated our unwavering commitment to these shared goals.
We celebrate the achievements of trilateral cooperation, including the inaugural Freedom Edge, a trilateral multi-domain exercise, the signing of a new Korea-U.S.-Japan security cooperation framework, and progress made by the trilateral working group focused on responding to North Korea’s cybercrimes and attempts to fund its weapons of mass destruction programs through other illicit means.
