Sangmyung University Receives Top Rating in University Innovation Support Project Performance Evaluation
Education Innovation Achieves Top Rating in Internal Performance Management
Sangmyung University achieved the highest grade in both the Educational Innovation Performance category and the Self-Performance Management category in the second-year performance evaluation of the 2nd cycle University Innovation Support Project, organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
View original imageSangmyung University announced on the 16th that it received the highest ratings in both the Educational Innovation Performance and Internal Performance Management categories in the second-year performance evaluation of the 2nd Cycle University Innovation Support Project, hosted by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
The Ministry of Education evaluated the educational innovation outcomes and internal performance management achievements of each university’s ‘Autonomous Innovation Plan’ to identify outstanding cases among innovation-leading universities. As a result, Sangmyung University received the highest S grade in the Educational Innovation Performance category and the highest A grade in the Internal Performance Management category.
In the field of educational innovation performance, Sangmyung University was highly rated for enhancing students’ ability to choose their majors through the establishment of a Division of Liberal Majors and broadening recruitment units, as well as for operating a flexible academic system by easing regulations on transferring majors.
In the Internal Performance Management category, the university received high marks for designing indicators that can measure overall performance of the innovation project, setting and achieving challenging targets, and producing objective improvement measures through diverse performance analyses and feedback.
President Hong Sungtae stated, “These evaluation results are the outcome of Sangmyung University’s utmost efforts to nurture talents suited for future society by expanding integrated recruitment that guarantees students’ right to choose their majors and career paths, operating a flexible academic system through relaxed regulations on major transfers, and establishing a systematic support and management system centered on students.”
