With the enforcement of the Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit Act last year, legal grounds for operation and expense support were established, and in April, the National Police Agency announced that radios were designated as portable equipment for the Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit. Accordingly, the Dongtan Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit introduced the LTE radio 'Razer' to build an integrated radio communication system.
The LTE radio 'Razer' enables radio communication through KT's LTE base stations, unlike general radios that have communication range limitations, eliminating dead zones and allowing clear radio communication. It also supports location tracking using GPS, and about ten autonomous crime prevention units nationwide have adopted and are operating 'Razer'.
Jaejong Yeol Bae, head of the Dongtan Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit, said, "'Razer' adoption facilitates smooth communication among members during emergencies and enables immediate response," adding, "This is expected to greatly help not only in crime prevention activities but also in the safety of the members."
