Gyeonggi-do to Conduct 'Elderly Status Survey' Until September
Gyeonggi Province will conduct a survey on the elderly until September.
Gyeonggi Province announced that, in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Welfare Foundation and Korea Gallup, it will conduct the "2024 Gyeonggi Province Elderly Survey" targeting 3,500 seniors aged 65 and older in the province starting from the 5th.
Through this survey, Gyeonggi Province plans to predict changes in the characteristics of the elderly and use the data to build systematic statistics in preparation for a super-aged society in the future.
Gyeonggi Province first conducted the elderly survey in 2021 and is carrying out the second survey this year on a three-year cycle.
The survey, conducted by Korea Gallup Co., Ltd. starting from the 5th, involves professional investigators visiting sampled elderly households to examine six major areas: ▲ demographic and sociological aspects ▲ health status ▲ economic activities ▲ housing and residential environment ▲ leisure activities and family social relationships ▲ perceptions of old age and elderly human rights.
In particular, new survey items reflecting Gyeonggi Province’s policy environment have been added, including the use of caregiving services, use of smart devices by the elderly, and perceptions of death and funeral culture.
Gyeonggi Province will complete the survey by September and publish the final report by the end of November.
