South Korean men's table tennis 'ace' Jang Woo-jin (world No. 13) secured a decisive victory against Japan's Togami Shunsuke in the Korea-Japan match, advancing to the men's singles quarterfinals.
On the 31st, at the South Paris Arena in France, during the round of 16 of the men's singles table tennis event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Jang defeated Togami 4-0 (11-7, 18-16, 12-10, 11-9).

Calderano is known as Jang's 'nemesis.' Jang has lost to Calderano three consecutive times recently and trails 5 wins to 6 losses overall, including their junior years. The last time Jang defeated Calderano was in the men's team quarterfinals at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
