President Yoon set the deadline for submitting the reports on the two nominees as the 30th.
Previously, the National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting Committee and the Political Affairs Committee failed to adopt the personnel hearing result reports for nominee Lee and nominee Kim.
The president may request the resubmission of the hearing reports within 10 days if the National Assembly fails to adopt the hearing reports.
If the National Assembly does not comply with the request, the president can appoint the nominees without the hearing reports starting from the following day.
President Yoon is expected to proceed with the appointments of nominee Lee and others as early as the 31st.
The Korea Communications Commission currently has no standing commissioners as former acting Chairperson (Vice Chairperson) Lee Sang-in voluntarily resigned amid opposition parties' impeachment efforts.
Since the presidential office and the ruling party need at least two commissioners to appoint the board members of public broadcasters, they are likely to expedite the appointment of a successor to former Vice Chairperson Lee Sang-in.
