Hwaseong-si Operates 'Social Economy' Education and Experience Program
Participation of 10 Social Economy Enterprises
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 30th that it will operate social economy education and experience programs starting next month to enhance understanding of social values within the local community and expand sales channels for social economy enterprises.
This program, held at the social economy promotion center "Modugachi" located in Songdong, Hwaseong City, was prepared through cooperation between the city and the Hwaseong Social Economy Support Center. Participants can experience products and services sold by 10 local social economy enterprises.
The programs include ▲Making eco-friendly handmade soap (Eco Cleaning Cooperative) ▲Making ladybug door hangers (Mimirim Agricultural Corporation) ▲Making safe whistles for children (Chilbosup Village Cooperative) ▲Making giant yarn bags (Craft Culture Promotion Institute Mokkoji Cooperative) ▲Pet snack dish decal experience (With Us Cooperative) ▲Cultural arts maker class (Life Edit Cooperative) ▲Net Zero Paper Art (Kkumgajin Cooperative) ▲Making pencil cases from leather scraps (Ojik Q Jinro Education Cooperative) ▲Picture book upcycling art (Maeumnamu Cooperative) ▲Decorating Santa Village terrariums (Kkumirum), among others.
The programs will be held three times a week from December 5 to December 7. Programs will also be held every other Saturday. Each program can accommodate up to 15 participants, and participation is free of charge. Those interested can apply through the Hwaseong City integrated reservation system starting two weeks prior to the first day of each month.

Lee Young-hee, head of the Social Economy Division of Hwaseong City, said, "This program is intended to solve local problems together with citizens and create a better local community," urging many citizens to participate in the programs.
