[Concall] Samsung SDI, No Retreat on Battery Investment... "Will Accelerate Mass Production at US Plant"
On the 30th, Samsung SDI announced that it will expand the supply of 'P6' batteries for the U.S. market and advance the mass production of StarPlus Energy within this year. StarPlus Energy is a joint venture established by Samsung SDI and Stellantis in North America.
A Samsung SDI official stated at the Q2 earnings briefing, "We expect a gradual recovery in demand for automotive batteries in the fourth quarter," and made these remarks.
Samsung SDI said there is no change to its existing investment plans and that it has already executed more than double the investment compared to the previous year as of the first half of this year.

Samsung SDI added, "We are continuing investments to respond to secured demand, including expanding the Hungary corporation and constructing the first joint plant with Stellantis," and "We are also making essential investments for mid- to long-term growth, such as in solid-state batteries and 46-pie (46mm diameter cylindrical batteries)."
