Gyeonggi-do Promotes 73 Grade 5 Team Leaders... Emphasizing 'Women and Regional Balance'
Gyeonggi Province held a personnel committee meeting on the 29th and confirmed 73 public officials at the team leader level (grade 5) as promotion candidates. This number is the same as the 73 promoted in January 2019. It is also 27 more than the average selection of 46 during the 8th elected administration.
Gyeonggi Province explained that the recent promotion personnel evaluation was primarily based on department head assessments, with a focus on whether candidates possessed the capability to successfully carry out key provincial government tasks at the team leader position.
The province also applied the basic principles of the 8th elected administration’s promotion personnel policy, which include consideration for women and regional balance, in this promotion.
Among the total 73 promotees, 22 were women, accounting for 30%, and 18 were from the northern Gyeonggi region, making up 25%.
A Gyeonggi Province official stated, "Having more than 70 officials promoted to the rank of manager is a significant personnel move that has only occurred three times in the past 20 years. Since this is an important position responsible for managing and leading provincial government affairs, we expect them to play a major role in a more solid and innovative provincial government development going forward."
