The Ulsan Fire Headquarters announced that the fire at the S-Oil Onsan plant, which started around 4:48 a.m., was fully extinguished by 9:34 a.m.
The fire authorities received a report stating, "There is a fire and explosion sound with smoke coming from the S-Oil Total lubricant line."
Immediately after the fire broke out, the authorities issued a Level 1 response, which was escalated to Level 2 around 5:20 a.m., and took action to respond to the fire.
After the Level 2 response was declared, all fire trucks in the Ulsan area were dispatched. As of 8 a.m. that day, 56 firefighting vehicles and 130 personnel were deployed. It was reported that no harmful substances from the fire were detected at the accident site.

A fire official stated, "In this fire, the priority was not extinguishing the fire but preventing its spread and stabilizing the facility," adding, "Firefighters maintained a safety distance of over 100 meters while conducting operations at the scene."
