The Integration Committee established the Regional Vitality Enhancement Special Committee to prepare policy alternatives aimed at creating "regions full of individuality and vitality" by improving regional competitiveness and living infrastructure conditions.
The Special Committee consists of 12 members, including Chairperson Jang Hye-young (Professor of Political Science and International Studies at Chung-Ang University), experts in local administration, regulatory innovation, rural economy, healthcare, urban planning, as well as youth and field activists. They plan to gather diverse regional opinions through public discussions such as field meetings and policy forums and seek measures that the public can empathize with.
Prior to the launch of the Special Committee, the Integration Committee collected opinions through expert meetings and set three main goals: ▲ securing regional "self-sustainability," ▲ improving the "quality of life" of local residents, and ▲ fostering an attractive "regional identity." Going forward, they will explore ways to improve regional living conditions and examine customized regulatory innovation directions to enhance regional competitiveness.
Chairperson Jang Hye-young of the Special Committee stated, "We will operate the Special Committee to establish a virtuous cycle structure where people can live and work in the region through improved living conditions, and the regional economy regains vitality."
