This new menu is a project between Shinsegae Food and Le Cordon Bleu to commemorate the sports festival held in Paris the day before and to provide consumers with a positive experience of delicious French alternative dishes made from plant-based ingredients. To this end, chefs from both companies developed representative French home-cooked meals enjoyed by the French at home using Shinsegae Food's 'You Are What You Eat' alternative meat and alternative beverages.
The new French alternative dishes introduced at the You Are What You Eat COEX branch in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, are two types: Tomato Farci and Hachis Parmentier. Tomato Farci is a dish where hollowed-out tomatoes are stuffed with stir-fried plant-based minced meat, onions, garlic, and the scooped-out tomato. It pairs well with the side dish 'Pommes Saut?es ? la Lyonnaise,' a potato dish from the Lyon region of France made by saut?ing onions and potatoes in olive oil.
Hachis Parmentier, which means finely chopped potato dish in French, is a representative French home-cooked meal. At the You Are What You Eat COEX branch, instead of meat, plant-based minced meat, carrots, mushrooms, onions, and other vegetables are topped with mashed potatoes made by adding the plant-based beverage You Are What You Eat Rice Based made from rice powder, then baked in the oven. The two new menu items will be sold at the You Are What You Eat COEX branch until the 31st of next month. The prices are 13,800 KRW and 16,800 KRW, respectively.
