JCS: "North Korea floats over 500 trash balloons"
Out of approximately 500 trash balloons released by North Korea on the 24th, about 480 fell in the South Korean area.
On the 25th, the Joint Chiefs of Staff announced to the press corps, "As of 8 a.m. today, about 500 North Korean trash balloons have been identified, and currently, there are no North Korean trash balloons detected in the air," adding, "Approximately 480 balloons fell in our area."

The Joint Chiefs stated that most of the contents of the North Korean trash balloons were paper, and some included plastic waste, noting, "So far, analysis results show no hazardous materials." The release of trash balloons by North Korea on the previous day marks the 10th occurrence this year, and for the first time, balloons fell within the Yongsan Presidential Office compound.
