In the video shared by the media, the coyote did not miss the moment when a puppy, appearing to be a pet dog, poked its head out between iron bars. It seems the coyote had been observing the puppy's behavior and quickly hunted it. The puppy, which had its muzzle bitten after sticking its head out, was left unable to bark and was helplessly dragged out from behind the iron gate, then disappeared off-camera.

Coyotes, carnivorous canids smaller than wolves but larger than foxes, primarily prey on rabbits, mice, and deer. They are known as the most adaptable wild animals in North America. For several years, coyotes have been appearing in residential areas near California, reportedly attacking pets weaker than themselves and young children.
