SaninGong Wins Grand Prize at Asia Lohas Industry Expo
The Human Resources Development Service of Korea received the Grand Prize (Minister of Environment Award) at the 13th Asia LOHAS Industry Expo held at the Grand Hall of Seoul National University of Education on the 24th.
Hosted by the Korea University Invention Association and the Asia LOHAS Industry Expo Organizing Committee, the 13th Asia LOHAS Industry Expo is held annually to encourage and reward achievements that have contributed to national industrial development through knowledge management under the Green New Deal policy.
The Service achieved human resource development results such as conducting vocational training for 2.85 million people annually, digitally transforming the national qualification examination system, and introducing 100,000 foreign workers to open an era of "Lifelong Vocational Competency Development Knowledge for All Citizens." Based on the operation of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Management Committee and strengthened internal controls, it fulfills various social responsibilities as a public institution.
In the environmental sector, efforts such as creating a paperless business environment (expanding eco-friendly CBT exams, introducing mobile national certificates) and energy-saving in daily life (campaign for using knee blankets, E-Circular Governance agreement) received favorable reviews. In the social sector, the operation of the online promotion center’s win-win cooperation hall and the establishment of a regional win-win platform (local government-public institution consultative body, volunteer activities and donations, open school, etc.) were highly evaluated.
In the governance sector, the integrity promotion planning team to eradicate labor-management joint corruption practices and the acquisition of the Anti-Bribery Management System (ISO37001) certification for the foreign employment support project were recognized as contributions to proactive administration through extensive ESG management.
Chairman Lee Woo-young stated, "We will continue to fulfill the social responsibilities of public institutions through sustainable ESG management practices," adding, "We will do our best to create a better society and environment so that future generations can design a happy life."
