Jet skis, personal watercraft used for transportation on water, are originally intended to facilitate convenient and fast movement at sea. However, a bizarre story has emerged about people using jet skis on the road.
On the 21st, a photo was posted on an online community under the title "Jet Ski Towing." The photo shows what appears to be a jet ski connected behind a personal vehicle and being driven on the road.
The issue was that a person was riding the jet ski while it was being transported. A man, presumed to be the father, was holding the jet ski's handlebars, and a rear passenger, presumed to be a young child, was wearing an orange life jacket and holding onto the front seat passenger. Neither of them was wearing any additional safety gear or helmets.
Netizens who saw the photo reacted with comments such as "This is safety negligence," "What if an accident happens?" "Just looking at it makes me dizzy," "Enjoying leisure activities on the road," "No excuse if an accident happens," "Driving on the road like enjoying a convertible," and "What crime did the child commit?"
This is not the first bizarre sighting of jet skis being used on roads. In 2018, a man in Jacksonville, Florida, USA, made headlines for riding a jet ski modified to run like a motorcycle on the road. In an interview with the media, the man stated, "This device is 100% legal and equipped with turn signals." In 2017, Mark Gomez, a world jet ski champion from the USA, caused controversy by riding a jet ski on flooded roads after record-breaking heavy rain.
