The Northern Gyeonggi Animal Hygiene Testing Laboratory announced on the 15th that from the 15th to the 31st of this month, it will carry out a special inspection targeting all livestock product transport vehicles (refrigerated trucks) entering slaughterhouses to prevent livestock product hygiene accidents.
The main inspection items include ▲whether the refrigeration unit is operating before loading livestock products ▲checking the thermometer and tachometer records ▲confirming the cold air circulation inside the refrigerated truck.
The Northern Gyeonggi Animal Hygiene Testing Laboratory stated that if any serious violations such as transporting livestock products without operating the refrigeration unit are detected during the inspection, they will take legal action, while minor violations will be guided on-site.
According to the current 'Livestock Products Hygiene Control Act,' meat shipped from slaughterhouses must be cooled to 10℃ or below, and meat transporters must maintain and transport it in that condition. If violated, the first offense results in a 7-day business suspension.

Jung Bong-su, head of the Northern Gyeonggi Animal Hygiene Testing Laboratory, pointed out, "Even livestock products properly managed in the pre-cooling room after slaughter during the summer can deteriorate if exposed to external temperatures even briefly during transport or if transported without properly operating the refrigeration unit."
