Terry Thomas appointed CEO of Volpara and concurrently CBO of Lunit
Medical AI company Lunit announced on the 9th that it has appointed Terry Thomas, CEO of its recently acquired subsidiary Volpara Health Technologies, as the new Chief Business Officer (CBO) of Lunit. Thomas will concurrently maintain his position as CEO of Volpara.
CBO Thomas holds a bachelor's degree in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin and a master's degree in Nursing from Wintec in New Zealand. He has accumulated over 25 years of extensive experience in the global healthcare industry. He spent more than 20 years at Epic, the leading electronic medical records (EMR) company in the United States, where he served as Vice President. At Epic, he was responsible for global business strategy planning and significantly contributed to strengthening Epic's presence in Europe during his tenure at the Epic Netherlands office. He later worked at UNC Healthcare, a nonprofit integrated healthcare system, and served as Senior Vice President overseeing global sales, marketing, and strategy at Orion Health, a New Zealand-based global healthcare software company.
Thomas joined Volpara in November 2020 as Strategy Director and played a key role, including successfully leading the acquisition of CRA Health, a spin-off from Harvard University, in February 2021. He then led the company as the second CEO from October 2022, succeeding Volpara’s founder and first CEO, Ralph Highnam.
Lunit plans to accelerate the integration and synergy creation between Lunit and Volpara through the appointment of Thomas as CBO. Thomas will oversee sales and marketing strategies for both companies, focusing particularly on business in the United States and the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) regions this year, and will lead expansion into new markets starting in 2025.
