The Cyber Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 8th that they recently summoned three doctors suspected of defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act to investigate the circumstances of their posts.
According to the police, these individuals are suspected of posting mocking posts and comments referring to Professor A of a university hospital, who internally reported the rebate allegations involving residents, as a "whistleblower" on the doctors' community 'Medistaff.'

Professor A raised suspicions around 2020 that residents at a university hospital were overprescribing vitamin injections to patients and receiving rebates from pharmaceutical companies. The police received a complaint from Professor A in March and launched an investigation.
