BPA Achieves Top Rating in Safe Korea Training for Three Consecutive Years
Busan Port Authority (BPA) has received the highest grade for three consecutive years in the nationwide comprehensive training program, the 'Safe Korea Drill.'
BPA, together with 16 related organizations including Yeongdo District Office and Port Fire Station, as well as about 200 volunteers from the Yeongdo District Disaster Prevention Volunteer Corps, conducted a response drill for complex disasters (building damage, fire, and ship accidents) caused by earthquakes and tsunamis at the Yeongdo International Cruise Terminal.
From the planning stage of the drill, BPA enhanced the effectiveness of the training by developing a highly sophisticated scenario through consultations with external experts.
In addition, BPA received high praise for strengthening on-site response capabilities by introducing new disaster safety communication network (PS-LTE) devices and utilizing them throughout all stages of the drill, thereby maintaining an efficient cooperation system with related organizations.
BPA President Kang Junseok said, "Thanks to the cooperation of organizations related to Busan Port, we were able to achieve this valuable result," and added, "We will continue to maintain a close collaborative system and do our best to fulfill our role as a disaster management agency."
