RNT Technology, Full-Scale Expansion of Core Electric Vehicle Parts Business
RNT Technology is set to actively expand its market for 'ceramic heat dissipation substrates for electric vehicles.'
RNT Technology announced on the 8th that its technology for 'ceramic heat dissipation substrates for electric vehicles' has been selected for two government-supported research and development projects by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, receiving a total of 2.4 billion KRW in support over the next four years.
They will carry out the project titled ‘Development of Printed Spacer-Integrated Ceramic Heat Dissipation Substrates for EV Inverters’ supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Additionally, they will undertake the project ‘Development of Insulation-Cooling Pin-Fin Integrated High Heat Dissipation Substrates and Power Module Application Technology for High-Power SiC Power Modules’ supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
An RNT Technology official stated, “Being selected for these support projects is a recognition of our innovative technology and R&D capabilities, and it will be an important opportunity to further advance RNT Technology’s technological prowess. We will continue to strengthen our position in the global market through ongoing innovation and research and development.”
RNT Technology possesses integrated heat dissipation substrate manufacturing technology. This technology manufactures spacer-integrated heat dissipation substrates by utilizing paste materials containing single Cu particles, which are used in conventional heat dissipation substrates. All products produced by RNT Technology are manufactured using the same MCP technology, ensuring stable production capacity (CAPA).
Accordingly, to facilitate efficient R&D and full-scale production of core electric vehicle components, RNT Technology consolidated its previously dispersed ‘ceramic heat dissipation substrate business for electric vehicles’ into its Gangneung plant during the first week of July.
Going forward, the Gangneung plant will operate ▲the defense-related MCP (Multi-layer Ceramic PCB) business and ▲the ceramic heat dissipation substrate business for electric vehicles. This will enable strategic TF operations involving development, quality, and manufacturing personnel. The strengthened collaboration between teams lays the foundation for improved efficiency across development, manufacturing, and certification processes.
