Financial Services Commission Opens Recruitment for D-Testbed Participants... 14-Week Testing Period
Anyone with Innovative Ideas Can Participate
The Financial Services Commission announced on the 7th that it will recruit participants for the second half of the D-Testbed program for four weeks from the 8th to the 2nd of next month, following the first half of the year.
The D-Testbed project provides a testing ground (Testbed) for individuals, teams, and companies with innovative fintech ideas that can solve challenges related to financial services. The testbed consists of actual datasets and a remote analysis system (VDI), allowing participants to remotely access the testbed, utilize and process data, and test and evaluate their ideas.
Additionally, participants receive mentoring and advice from experts in various fields to help test and commercialize their fintech ideas.
Starting this year, D-Testbed participants will receive additional points during the evaluation of fintech support projects by the Korea Fintech Support Center, and can quickly combine and utilize given pseudonymized information through the Financial AI Data Library. This will enable more diverse testing over 14 weeks.
The participation categories are divided based on the proposer of the project: ‘Collaboration Project Type’ proposed by private financial companies to discover collaboration models between financial companies and fintech firms; ‘Public Interest Project Type’ proposed by financial public institutions and related organizations to research public interest projects and seek solutions; and ‘Free Proposal Type’ where applicants freely set their own projects. Those wishing to participate can select and apply for one of the three categories provided.
Selected participants for the second half will implement and verify their ideas using the provided combined data from August to November over 14 weeks and ultimately submit a final report. The Financial Services Commission and others will conduct a performance evaluation of all participants from both halves at the end of the year, select six outstanding teams from the D-Testbed, and award them.
