"Eunpyeong Tunnel 450m Section Fully Closed Until End of October"
Expansion and Improvement Construction... Detour Road Must Be Used Within Susaek 8 District
Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 28th that the second phase of the expansion and improvement construction of Eunpyeong Tunnel Road began on the 26th and is scheduled to be completed by the end of October this year.
This project, carried out as part of the housing redevelopment maintenance project for Susaek Districts 6, 7, and 8, involved the construction of a detour road within Susaek District 8 during the first phase. The detour road was opened on the 26th, the start date of the second phase of construction.
In the main second phase, a 450m section of Eunpyeong Tunnel Road will be completely closed, with the road expanded from one lane to three lanes and the ground level raised by up to 3.49m. The construction involves widening the 450m two-lane (15m) section from DMC Fine City Xi to DMC Jinheung Apartment to three lanes (21m). During this period, vehicle traffic will be prohibited on some sections of Eunpyeong Tunnel Road, so drivers must use the detour road within Susaek District 8.
