National Health Insurance Busan Ulsan Gyeongnam Branch Holds 16th Anniversary Long-term Care Meeting with Care Workers
Strengthening Communication in Care Settings... Improving Service Quality and Building Healthy Partnerships
The National Health Insurance Service Busan Ulsan Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters (Director Choi Deokgeun) held a meeting on the 24th with long-serving care workers at long-term care institutions in Busan, listening to their difficulties and concerns.
With the introduction of the Long-Term Care Insurance for the Elderly in July 2008 to ensure health security in old age and alleviate family burdens, and as Korea approaches a super-aged society in 2025, the number of beneficiaries has already surpassed one million, leading to a continuous increase in care workers.
Care workers, such as caregivers who provide direct services to the elderly, are key personnel for improving the quality of service.
During the meeting, the dedication of care workers who have worked in the field for over 10 years was acknowledged, and their on-site difficulties and concerns were heard.
In particular, among the video messages sent by family members, one expressed gratitude by saying, "The long-term care insurance system arrived exactly when we needed it, and caregivers are a gift sent from heaven," which instilled pride in everyone present.
