Dong-Eui University Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center Signs Global Partnership with University of Calgary
Academic Exchange and Human Resource Development Cooperation in Information and Communication Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Quantum Computing
The Grand ICT Research Center for Artificial Intelligence at Dong-Eui University signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on June 14 in Calgary, Canada, with the Nano/Micro-Sensors and Sensing Systems Laboratory at the University of Calgary to strengthen international cooperation in the fields of information and communication technology (ICT), artificial intelligence (AI), and quantum computing.

View original imageThe signing ceremony was attended by Center Director Jung Seokchan of the Grand ICT Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, as well as Professors Kim Sunghwan, Simon Park, Kim Geunyoung, and Lee Jihyun from the University of Calgary.
Through this agreement, the two institutions will cooperate in areas such as ▲exchange of AI-based industrial automation technologies and joint research and development in quantum computing ▲support for building a global network to foster related ecosystems △and nurturing talent in relevant fields.
Jung Seokchan, Director of the Grand ICT Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, said, "We expect this agreement will greatly contribute to the establishment of a manufacturing AI and quantum information technology ecosystem, which is a key focus for Busan City. We will continue to strengthen international cooperation, including technology and information exchange, so that Busan can emerge as a global hub city."
Director Jung Seokchan also attended the '2024 Korea-Canada Science and Technology Conference' held in Banff, Canada, from June 16 to 20, where he discussed ways to discover and promote international joint projects between Busan City and Canada.
