"Help Low-Income Single Mothers"... 14 Gyeongbuk Social Enterprises Donate 27 Million Won in Sales Proceeds
On the 21st, social enterprises in North Gyeongsang Province donated 10% of the sales from the Good Consumption Special Sales Event to support low-income single mother households in the province.
The donation of 27.06 million KRW delivered this time was raised through a 1:1 donation matching system with the Korea Social Welfare Society, a specialized relief organization for infants and children, and a portion of the profits from 14 social enterprises that participated in the "May Family and Appreciation Month, Good Consumption Special Event."
The Good Consumption Special Sales Event was designed to promote and sell excellent products from North Gyeongsang social enterprises to consumers through an online special sale, supporting local companies' sales channels and marketing to expand their customer base. At the same time, part of the proceeds is used to support local low-income single mothers and children who are in urgent need of help.
The event achieved sales close to 300 million KRW, more than double the initial sales target, confirming consumers' growing interest in "good consumption."
With the donation raised from this third event, following last year's end-of-year event, ten low-income households will be selected to receive food and childcare supplies. The province had previously supported ten low-income households through two earlier special events.
One of the recipients, who introduced herself as "Angel Mom," expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thanks to the daily necessities sent every month, I am able to live well with my child, and your care gives me strength."
Lee Cheolwoo, Governor of North Gyeongsang Province, said, "I deeply appreciate the efforts of social enterprises practicing meaningful management even in difficult economic times," and added, "North Gyeongsang Province will do its best to support the management of good companies."
