Mercedes-Benz New 'CLE Cabriolet' Launch... Online Limited Edition Also Unveiled
Maintaining Stable Temperature Even with Top Opened
Mercedes-Benz has launched a new 2-door open-top model. It features functions that allow an open-air experience regardless of external conditions.
Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on the 20th that it will release two models: the new CLE 200 Cabriolet and CLE 450 4MATIC Cabriolet.
The CLE Cabriolet comes standard with a black soft top. Its multi-layer structure provides excellent insulation, maintaining the interior temperature at an optimal level throughout all seasons while reducing drafts and noise. It can open and close within 20 seconds even while driving at speeds up to 60 km/h.
The new model is also equipped with features that allow an open-air feeling in any weather. The 'Aircap®' creates an air barrier over the occupants' heads using wind deflectors located at the top of the windshield and behind the headrests, preventing outside wind from entering the cabin. The 'Airscarf®' blows warm air from the lower part of the seat headrests.
The 11.9-inch vertical LCD central display can tilt between 15 and 40 degrees to reduce light reflection when driving with the roof open. Leather seats, offered as a paid option, are specially coated to keep the perceived interior temperature up to 12 degrees Celsius cooler than regular leather seats during summer.
The CLE Cabriolet has a wheelbase (distance between front and rear axles) of 2865 mm. Compared to the previous C-Class Cabriolet, rear knee room has increased by 72 mm, and shoulder and elbow space by 19 mm. The trunk capacity is 385 liters, and folding the rear seatbacks expands the cargo space.
All lineups are equipped with the 3rd generation MBUX infotainment system featuring T-map Mobility-based proprietary navigation. The CLE 450 4MATIC Cabriolet supports third-party applications offering various entertainment platforms, video conferencing, gaming, and streaming services.
The CLE 200 Cabriolet and CLE 450 4MATIC Cabriolet are powered by inline 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder gasoline turbo engines paired with 9-speed transmissions, respectively. The CLE 200 Cabriolet delivers a maximum output of 204 horsepower and peak torque of 32.6 kgf·m. The CLE 450 4MATIC Cabriolet produces 381 horsepower and 51 kgf·m of torque.
Additionally, all models are equipped with a 48V mild hybrid system. It provides up to 17 kW of additional power at startup and offers gliding (turning off the internal combustion engine while the vehicle is moving), boosting, and regenerative braking functions. Both models have also obtained certification as low-emission vehicles (Type 2).
Various driving assistance systems are included, such as the Driving Assistance Package Plus, digital light that adjusts headlamp brightness based on road lighting conditions, traffic, driving route, and weather, MBUX augmented reality navigation, and a parking package including a 360° camera.
Other standard features include a toll settlement system that displays Hi-Pass payment amounts and balances on the central display, ventilated and heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a heated windshield washer system.
The CLE 200 Cabriolet is priced at 78 million KRW, and the CLE 450 4MATIC Cabriolet at 108 million KRW. Detailed specifications can be found at any of the 64 official Mercedes-Benz Korea dealerships nationwide or on the official website.
