Topic 'Beautiful Honam Road Harmonized with Nature'... National Roads and Sea Bridges
The Iksan Regional Land Management Office (Director Ahn Kyung-ho) is holding the "7th Beautiful Honam Road Photo Contest" this year, following last year, focusing on national highways and sea bridges in the Honam region.
According to the Iksan Land Management Office on the 18th, this photo contest targets the beautiful scenery around national highways and landmark sea bridges within the jurisdiction. It aims to increase public interest in tourist resources and national highways so that many people can see and cherish them as memories, and to revitalize the local economy. The contest period is until the end of October. Anyone interested in Honam's national highways, including sea bridges, can participate.

The theme of this contest is "Beautiful Honam Road Scenery and Stories Harmonized with Nature." The contest targets the scenery of national highways and sea bridges located in the Honam region. Photos can be taken of national highways or sea bridges alone, or with family, friends, or lovers with these as the background. Photos taken using smartphones, digital cameras, drones, etc., are all acceptable.
Applications can be submitted by filling out the application form on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Iksan Regional Land Management Office websites, writing the title of the work and other details, and then emailing the photos (up to 3 per person) to the person in charge.
Submitted works will be judged by a panel of experts, selecting 1 grand prize winner, 1 excellence award winner, 2 encouragement award winners, and 8 honorable mentions, who will receive commendations and prizes. The prizes are 1,000,000 KRW for the grand prize (Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Commendation), 500,000 KRW for the excellence award, 200,000 KRW for the encouragement awards (both with Iksan Land Management Office Director Commendations), and 100,000 KRW for honorable mentions.

Meanwhile, last year's "6th Beautiful Honam Road Photo Contest" attracted much public interest with a total of 185 submissions.
Gwak Jae-jin, Head of the Sea Bridge Safety Division, stated, "We will continue to hold photo contests to share the beautiful scenery of national highways and sea bridges, which are becoming landmarks of the West and South Sea coasts, with the public."
