The Gajang 1 and 2 Industrial Complexes, completed in 2010 and 2014 respectively, are representative industrial complexes in the Osan area. A total of 87 companies in cosmetics, electrical, electronics, and other sectors are located in the complexes.
At the meeting, companies preemptively raised various issues including ▲industrial complex environmental improvements ▲traffic problems ▲announcement schedules for leased sites. The city responded that it would actively work on improving the industrial complex environment while requesting the Dongtan Business Headquarters of Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), the project operator of Gajang 2 Industrial Complex, to promptly finalize the announcement schedule.
Meanwhile, the city has proposed to the government the establishment of a 300,000-pyeong scale Techno Valley within the Segyo 3 Public Housing District to create a semiconductor-specialized Techno Valley based on anchor companies. The city expects that the creation of quality jobs and improvement of residential conditions through the Techno Valley will have a positive effect on the local economy, such as revitalizing commercial districts.
