The Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Kwon Oh-seong) is actively working to prevent smuggling, illegal immigration, and visa-free entry violations.
On the 18th, according to Mokpo Maritime Police, a joint inspection was conducted with related agencies targeting foreign affairs vulnerable ports and harbors.

The Mokpo Maritime Police, in cooperation with the Mokpo branch of the National Intelligence Service, the Coastal Surveillance Mobile Unit, Mokpo Customs, and local governments, carefully inspected 37 foreign affairs vulnerable ports and harbors within the jurisdiction.
Through this, they established maritime border order and built a response and cooperation system against new smuggling and illegal immigration methods.
The main inspection items included monitoring the status of foreign affairs vulnerable areas, patrolling vulnerable ports and harbors under police substation jurisdiction and managing resident reporting networks, checking the installation status, coverage, location, and storage period of CCTV, and sharing detailed information on military unit surveillance equipment.

A Mokpo Maritime Police official stated, “We will strengthen maritime security through continuous proactive inspections of foreign affairs vulnerable areas,” and urged, “Residents are requested to immediately report any suspicious ships or people to the maritime police.”
