Gyeonggi International AI Media Festival to be Held at KINTEX in October
The Gyeonggi International AI Media Festival will be held at KINTEX this October.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 18th that the Gyeonggi International AI Media Festival, themed "New Opportunities Presented by AI," will take place on October 25th at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang.
Previously, Gyeonggi Province held a preparatory committee meeting composed of Professor Kim Dae-sik from KAIST, film director Kim Tae-yong, EBS CP Han Sang-ho, and choreographer Kim Hye-yeon to finalize the event plans, including submission guidelines for the Gyeonggi International AI Media Festival.
The Gyeonggi International AI Media Festival will consist of a contest to promote new media content using generative AI, a conference addressing the opportunities and challenges faced by cultural content creators due to the emergence of generative AI, and a screening event for the contest winners.
First, a video media contest utilizing generative AI will be held for global cultural content creators from July 1st to September 3rd, lasting two months.
The October festival will feature a conference, an awards ceremony for the contest, and a screening event.
The conference will focus on domestic and international AI experts and AI content creators, covering trends in content production technology using generative AI, concerns and new opportunities for cultural content creators, as well as sensitive topics such as legal, institutional, and ethical issues surrounding AI.

At the festival, a screening of 26 selected works from the contest and discussions with the directors will take place.
