Songpa-gu to Implement Volume-Based Waste Bag Inventory Management System Starting July
Increase in Supply and Inventory Quantification Enhances Work Efficiency and Financial Transparency
Songpa-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced on the 13th that it has newly established an ‘Inventory Management System’ for efficient supply and management of volume-based waste bags and will begin operation starting next month.
The distribution of Songpa-gu’s volume-based waste bags is carried out by the district selecting nine cleaning agencies as distribution hubs, supplying bags to about 660 sales outlets within the district, and the sales outlets selling them to the final consumers.
Previously, each agency had different managers, making integrated monitoring difficult. It was hard to grasp the quantity supplied to sales outlets and inventory status, making real-time response to civil complaints virtually impossible.
Accordingly, aiming to establish an efficient management system, the district secured a budget of 20 million KRW from the Seoul city public project and promptly introduced the ‘Volume-based Waste Bag Inventory Management System,’ which will be operated from next month. This measure focuses on improving overall work efficiency from bag production to management by enhancing the district’s information accessibility as the control tower.
Once the system is operational, the supply volume to sales outlets by cleaning agencies can be checked in real time, enabling quick and accurate responses to civil complaints. It will be able to broadly respond to various inquiries, including purchase locations for bags by capacity and purpose, which are frequently asked. Based on sales volume, accurate payment calculations can be made, increasing financial transparency.
Additionally, by analyzing distribution volume to predict demand and adjust supply volume, efficient budget management becomes possible. Managing new or changed registrations of sales outlets in the district will also become much easier, preventing unnecessary administrative labor waste.
The system not only offers administrative advantages but also provides customized convenience for each distribution channel. In particular, a function has been established allowing cleaning agencies and sales outlets to order volume-based waste bags 24 hours a day. Moving away from the previous order method conducted only by phone during business hours, orders can now be requested and received anytime through various channels such as ARS, mobile, and internet.
