Military: "Seems They Got Lost While Working with Pickaxes"
It has been confirmed that multiple North Korean soldiers crossed the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) on the 9th but retreated after warning shots were fired. This occurred on the same day South Korea reactivated its loudspeakers aimed at North Korea for the first time in six years in response to North Korea's release of filth balloons.
On the 11th, the Joint Chiefs of Staff announced through a Ministry of National Defense press briefing, "Around 12:30 PM on the 9th, some North Korean soldiers working within the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on the central front simply crossed the MDL and retreated northward after our forces issued warning broadcasts and fired warning shots," adding, "Other than the immediate northward movement following our warning shots, there were no unusual developments."

The military authorities stated that they are closely monitoring the movements of North Korean soldiers and taking necessary measures according to operational procedures.
A Joint Chiefs of Staff official explained, "More than 10 North Korean soldiers crossed the Military Demarcation Line within 50 meters for a short period, and upon warning shots, they immediately moved back north of the MDL," "It is presumed that they lost their way while working with tools such as pickaxes and inadvertently crossed the MDL."

The 9th, when the North Korean soldiers crossed the MDL, was also the day South Korea activated loudspeakers aimed at North Korea in response to North Korea's filth balloon provocations. The military reportedly conducted broadcasts toward the North for about two hours starting from 5 PM. Analysts suggest that the Joint Chiefs of Staff's decision to disclose the North Korean incursion more than two days later was likely to avoid further escalating tensions.
