GH Accepts Agricultural Loss Compensation Applications for 'Gyeonggi Yongin Platform City' Until August
Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) is accepting applications for agricultural loss compensation from farmers in the "Gyeonggi Yongin Platform City" area until August 7.
Eligible recipients are farmers who owned and cultivated farmland or leased and cultivated farmland as of the project recognition announcement date (January 5, 2021). However, land used as farmland after the project recognition announcement date, land occupied without permission on someone else’s property, or land used by non-farmers are excluded from compensation.
The compensation criteria differ for self-cultivated farmland and leased farmland. For self-cultivated farmland, compensation is provided to the farmland owner. For leased farmland, if the farmland owner is a farmer residing in the relevant area (within a 30 km straight-line distance from the farmland), the farmland owner and the leasing farmer must negotiate the compensation ratio; if no agreement is reached, compensation is split 50% each. If the farmland owner is not a farmer residing in the relevant area, compensation is given to the actual cultivating leasing farmer.
Compensation is paid at the same unit price regardless of the type of crop grown and is based on the actual cultivated area, not the registered area.
Required documents include the Agricultural Management Ledger, cultivation confirmation certificate, and agricultural material purchase documents, among other proof of farming activities. However, the documents needed may vary depending on the compensation target, so it is essential to check the guidance notice carefully.
