'Provincial Guardians' Jeonnam Fire Department's Expertise in Disaster Sites Is Undisputedly Number One
Nationwide Firefighting Skills Competition: 1st Place in Both Rescue Tactics and Life Safety
Cheongam University, Representing Jeonnam, Also Wins 1st Place in 'CPR Special Contest'
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Oh Seung-hoon) demonstrated the nation's top skills at the national competition.
Jeonnam Fire announced on the 5th that it took first place in the fields of life safety and rescue tactics at the 37th National Firefighting Skills Competition.
To prepare for the National Firefighting Skills Competition, Jeonnam Fire held an internal competition within the province for nine days starting April 1st, forming a final team of 36 players across 9 teams.
The Jeonnam representative players (Fire Lieutenant Lee Byung-ho, Fire Sergeant Shin Hyun-duk, Fire Corporal Byun Wook, Firefighters Park Yo-jin and Lee Dae-geon) won the national first place in the rescue tactics field with excellent rescue skills and perfect teamwork.
In the life safety field, where 45 members representing fire headquarters from 15 cities and provinces competed, Fire Sergeant Jeong Chang-hee and Firefighters Lee Kwang-jin and Kim Jong-hyun proudly took first place after fierce competition.
Adding to the double celebration, Suncheon Cheongam University, representing Jeonnam in the newly established event this year, the ‘Emergency Rescue Department CPR and First Aid Special Competition,’ also took first place.
The 37th National Firefighting Skills Competition, held since 1983 with the goal of strengthening firefighting tactical capabilities and improving teamwork, was held this year from the 3rd to the 5th at Gongju Central Fire Academy.
