Summer Themes Launched Two Weeks Early Due to Early Heat

Shinsegae Centum City has launched an 'early summer' campaign with a variety of discount events and promotions.
Although summer is typically the off-season for department stores, Centum City, which has emerged as a resort destination in the city, is seeing an increase in non-local customers and is actually performing strongly.
During the summer, city shoppers usually head out of town, resulting in fewer visitors to department stores. However, Centum City, located in Haeundae, Korea's top summer vacation spot, saw the proportion of customers from outside Busan approach 60% as of June last year, significantly higher than the annual average in the mid-50% range.
By region, the number of visitors from Seoul, Gyeonggi, and other metropolitan areas, as well as Daegu and Gyeongbuk, increased by 28% and 22% respectively compared to the same period last year, attracting customers from all over the country.
This summer is expected to be hotter than usual, prompting the early opening of Haeundae and Songjeong beaches on the 1st. Local festivals such as Haeundae Sand Festival, Busan Port Festival, and Busan One Asia Festival are also being held one after another, leading to a rise in tourists visiting Busan.
Accordingly, the department store is planning to absorb shopping demand by moving up its summer-themed 'Early Vacation Fair' by about two weeks compared to last year, running it until the 16th.
First, from the 6th to the 9th, during the golden holiday period, the '4DAYS SPECIAL' event will be held, offering benefits such as a 30% discount on Spa Land and ice rink combo tickets, as well as F&B (food and beverage) coupon giveaways, allowing customers to enjoy a 'baecation' and escape the heat.
In fashion and accessories, the 'Summer Fashion Week' will be held at the mall until the 13th, with discounts of up to 40% on items such as sports outdoor wear, rain boots, and swimwear. At the 'Luxury Sunglasses Fair' on the first floor until the 12th, sunglasses from brands like Gucci, Bottega Veneta, and Saint Laurent will be offered at 20% off. To meet the increasing demand for golfing in the summer, a 'Mid-Year Golf Wear & Equipment Special' will be held in the B1 event hall until the 5th, with related products discounted up to 70%.
On the 7th floor in the electronics section, a special exhibition themed 'Experience Summer in Advance' will showcase fans and summer bedding. Items such as bamboo blankets and comforters will be available at 30-50% off, and from the 6th to the 19th, a pop-up introducing fans from Busan company Lumena will be held as part of a local business initiative.
In the B1 food section, the 'Food Good Price' event will run until the 6th, offering up to 50% off on fresh foods such as organic lettuce, blueberries, omija, as well as groceries like organic oatmeal and 10-year aged balsamic vinegar.
Shinsegae Centum City plans to continue expanding its market share with demand-driven marketing this summer, further solidifying Busan's position as a shopping destination in the marine tourism city.
