View original imageRegarding the recent KakaoTalk service disruptions, the government has requested corrective measures from Kakao. Kakao must prepare a plan addressing the corrective requirements within one month and submit the results of the corrections to the government within three months.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 31st that KakaoTalk experienced a total of three service disruptions this month. The Ministry convened the Telecommunications Disaster Management Deliberation Committee to review and approve the corrective action requests concerning Kakao's shortcomings.
The corrective requirements include ▲strengthening the pre-testing system before major operations ▲enhancing operation management controls ▲supplementing manuals and guidelines related to telecommunications disasters ▲upgrading the monitoring system to improve fault detection ▲systematizing fault cause analysis and post-management ▲improving user notification of service disruptions.
The Ministry of Science and ICT stated that Kakao must establish and submit an improvement action plan within one month and submit the results of the corrections within three months.
