Discussion on Seven Issues Including Differential Speed Limits in School Zones
Ulsan City will hold the first half meeting of the 'Ulsan Metropolitan City Public-Private Joint Regulation Discovery Team' at 2 p.m. on the 4th floor main conference room of City Hall on the 29th.
The Public-Private Joint Regulation Discovery Team is a consultative body operated with the participation of citizens, businesses, experts, and the administration to identify and improve unreasonable regulations encountered in the field.
At this meeting, about 20 participants including Kim Nokyung, Director of Planning and Coordination, officials from the Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives from the Ulsan Small Business Association, corporate representatives, and relevant Ulsan City officials will discuss the rationality, issues, and improvements of seven regulatory reform proposals submitted by the 'Ulsan Metropolitan City Public-Private Joint Regulation Discovery Team.'
Main improvement tasks include: ▲Differentiated speed limits in child protection zones ▲Revision of terms and conditions for electricity usage applications ▲Improvement of the insured system for travel agency guarantee insurance ▲Amendment of the Enforcement Decree of the Construction Workers Act ▲Easing of reporting standards for wastewater discharge facilities, among others.
Ulsan City plans to propose tasks requiring regulatory improvement to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in the second half of the year and will continue to consult with the ministry to increase the acceptance rate of central government agencies.
An Ulsan City official said, "As the Public-Private Joint Regulation Discovery Team was formed to quickly identify and improve regulations that hinder business activities and inconvenience citizens' daily lives, we will do our best to discover hidden regulations and resolve regulatory difficulties that impede corporate economic activities and citizens' everyday life."

The Ulsan Regulation Discovery Team identified a total of 18 improvement tasks last year, of which seven were proposed to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. As a result, two cases?exclusion of PC rooms from the list of harmful establishments for youth and relaxation of standards for hiring foreign welders?were accepted as valid by central government agencies after review.
