This project, led by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, involves universities and metropolitan local governments forming a consortium to jointly develop curricula aimed at nurturing talent needed by the industry in advanced fields.
As the lead university, Dankook University will establish the 'Next-Generation Display Innovation Convergence University Consortium' together with Chungcheongnam-do (metropolitan local government), Kyung Hee University, Hanseo University, Hoseo University, and Chungbuk Health Science University to cultivate convergence-type talents who will drive innovative growth in next-generation displays.
Dankook University plans to invest 40.8 billion KRW over four years to nurture more than 15,000 talents, including 3,600 core experts in the advanced display field.
The consortium involves 121 faculty members from five universities who will organize specialized tracks in five major areas: display materials, devices & optics, driving & systems, design, and eco-display, and will open a total of 79 new courses.
Advanced curricula and infrastructure for inter-university convergence education will also be newly established. Dankook University has built an integrated LMS (Learning Management System) through the successful operation of the first-phase Innovation Convergence University project, the 'Biohealth Innovation Convergence University.' Based on this, it plans to upgrade the employment linkage and performance management systems to improve it into a portal-type platform.
To cultivate practical talents who can be immediately deployed in the industry field, a shared cleanroom of 673.6㎡ for display semiconductor processes has been established, and a large-scale display practice center of 500㎡ will also be newly constructed.
The 'NEXT-U' education model will be established to spread the achievements of convergence education. Customized talent development programs demanded by industries will be developed to nurture practical talents, and an organic cooperation among local governments, universities, and industries will build a virtuous cycle structure of education-employment-reeducation.
