Korea Federation of SMEs, Jinju City, and K-Entrepreneurship Foundation Sign 'MOU for the Expansion of K-Entrepreneurship'
The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the 16th that it signed a business agreement for the "Spread of K-Entrepreneurship" in collaboration with Jinju City and the Jinju K-Entrepreneurship Foundation at the Federation's headquarters in Yeouido.
Attending the signing ceremony were Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, Cho Gyu-il, Mayor of Jinju City, and Jeong Young-su, Chairman of the Jinju K-Entrepreneurship Foundation.
Jinju is known as the birthplace of K-Entrepreneurship, as the founders of four major global Korean companies (LG's Koo In-hoe, GS's Heo Man-jeong, Samsung's Lee Byung-chul, and Hyosung's Cho Hong-je) all graduated from Jisu Elementary School in Jinju. Recently, it has been called the "Holy Land of Korean Industrialization."
Jinju City and the Jinju K-Entrepreneurship Foundation have remodeled the closed Jisu Elementary School into a K-Entrepreneurship Education Center, which is currently in operation. Last year, it educated over 2,000 entrepreneurs, including those from venture companies, becoming a "hub for K-Entrepreneurship education."
Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, stated, "In order to overcome the era of complex crises, entrepreneurship, including bold investment, is necessary. We hope that this business agreement will serve as an opportunity for the Federation, Jinju City?the birthplace of K-Entrepreneurship?and the Jinju K-Entrepreneurship Foundation to take the lead in spreading K-Entrepreneurship through various exchanges and systematic education."
Cho Gyu-il, Mayor of Jinju City, emphasized, "The values of Jinju K-Entrepreneurship, which has contributed to Korea's economic growth and crisis management, and the Korea Federation of SMEs are aligned. Going forward, the Federation and the Jinju K-Entrepreneurship Foundation will join forces to carry out various projects, including hosting the Jinju K-Entrepreneurship Youth Forum and international forums."
