Teen Theft Gang Caught Stealing Belongings from Outing Visitors at Hangang Park
Teenagers who stole belongings from citizens at Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul were caught by the police.
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 8th that three high school students, including A (16), were booked without detention on charges of special theft.
They are suspected of stealing items from citizens on picnics around Yeouido Hangang Park in Yeongdeungpo-gu from late December last year until last month.
Most of the items stolen by A and others were mobile phones, bags, wallets, and wireless earphones, with the total damage amounting to about 10 million won.
It was investigated that they divided roles and committed the crimes while picnic-goers left their mats unattended to receive food deliveries.
It is known that they testified to the police that they sold the stolen items on secondhand trading platforms and used the money to buy cigarettes or pay for PC bang fees.
