'Domestic Debut' Kim Hyoju "Expecting High-Level Performance"
LET Aramco Team Series Opening on the 10th
Three Professionals and One Amateur Form a Three-Day Race
Individual Winner Reflects World Ranking and LET Official Ranking
World No. 12 Kim Hyo-joo greets domestic golf fans.
From the 10th for three days, she will participate in the European Ladies Tour (LET) Aramco Team Series held at New Korea Country Club (par 72) in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. The tournament is sponsored by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia. It is the second event in the international series that tours five countries annually. The total prize money is 1 million dollars (about 1.36 billion won).
Thirty-six teams, each consisting of three professionals and one amateur, compete for the championship trophy. On the final day, professional players compete for the individual title. The team competition determines the winning team by combining the scores of the top two players from the same team over two days. The individual competition awards the winner to the professional player with the best combined score over three days. Individual results are reflected in the world rankings, LET official rankings, and the Solheim Cup ranking points for golf competitions between the U.S. and Europe. Golf Saudi (Saudi Golf Federation), the tournament organizer, and Kolon Group, the official host partner, have joined hands.
Kim Hyo-joo has won six times on the U.S. LPGA Tour, including the 2024 major Evian Championship. Since the Ascendant LPGA in October last year, she has not added any wins. She said, "The tournament format is really unique, so I am looking forward to it. I will show a high level of performance to everyone at home."
