Below is the full statement from Big Hit Music
Hello.
This is Big Hit Music.
We would like to provide an update on the legal actions taken to protect BTS’s rights and interests.
We clearly state that the chart manipulation marketing, concept plagiarism, Danworld association rumors, and cult suspicions aimed at damaging BTS’s reputation and slandering them are not true.
We have determined that the malicious rumor-mongering through the spread of false information related to the artist has reached an intolerable level, and we have appointed a separate law firm to respond strictly, as previously announced.
Accordingly, we have compiled numerous posts that constitute the spread of false information and defamation and submitted the first complaint to investigative authorities today (May 2). Posts and accounts that were systematically created and deleted, including those that were deleted, are also included without exception in the complaint. We will continue monitoring and collecting evidence for additional complaints.
We will take legal civil and criminal action with a zero-tolerance policy against malicious rumors that harm the artist’s reputation, and we plan to respond strongly without any settlement or leniency so that perpetrators who commit illegal acts are punished.
We sincerely apologize for causing concern to fans regarding this matter. We will continue to take all necessary measures to protect the rights and interests of our artists. We are always grateful for the love and dedication of BTS’s fans, and we ask for your active reports through Big Hit Music’s legal response account (protect@bighitmusic.co.kr).
