"Eye Shape Has Changed"... Kia Unveils Teaser for Facelifted EV6
Kia has unveiled a new design teaser image of its electric sports utility vehicle (SUV), the EV6.
On the 2nd, Kia showcased the new silhouette and front and rear lamp designs of the facelifted EV6 through teaser images.
In particular, Kia applied a new family look called 'Starmap Signature Lighting' to the daytime running lights (DRL) of the facelifted EV6. This creates a more dynamic and futuristic impression.
Launched in August 2021, the EV6 is Kia's first dedicated electric vehicle model based on Hyundai Motor Group's dedicated electric vehicle platform, E-GMP. The EV6, scheduled for release within the year, is a product improvement model introduced after three years.
The EV6, with its eye-catching design and excellent electrification features, won the 2022 'European Car of the Year'?the first Korean brand to do so?and also won the 2023 'North American Car of the Year (SUV category)'.
Additionally, the high-performance version of the EV6, the EV6 GT, won the 'World Performance Car of the Year' at the 2023 World Car Awards, earning the EV6 high praise across various awards, including the world's top three Car of the Year honors.
Kia plans to reveal detailed product information such as the improved EV6's design and specifications later this month.
A Kia official stated, "The EV6, developed based on the dedicated electric vehicle platform E-GMP, continues to receive various awards and positive reviews globally," adding, "We will continue to strive to meet diverse customer needs through differentiated products and services."
