Last year’s 18th Yeongyang Wild Vegetable Festival, held under the theme “Meet Spring, Wild Vegetable Party!”, welcomed about 120,000 visitors and achieved an economic effect of approximately 6 billion KRW, concluding successfully.

The 19th Yeongyang Wild Vegetable Festival this year is preparing various attempts to provide greater satisfaction without settling for last year’s success.

The wild vegetable market, where you can directly meet the pungent and mild wild vegetables from Yeongyang-gun, the hometown of wild vegetables, and the food village where you can taste various dishes made with wild vegetables are waiting for you.

Wild vegetable quality control committee members will be stationed throughout the event site to sell trustworthy wild vegetables, and you can enjoy various contents such as busking and impromptu events.

In particular, this year, the festival is breaking away from being mainly focused on wild vegetable sales to offer experiences of mountain village culture, barbecue, mountain herbs, vegan options, and other healthy activities to enjoy along with wild vegetables. The booth operation hours will be extended to strengthen night programs, allowing visitors to enjoy the festival under the night sky.

The pojangmacha street, operated directly by market merchant members under the Yeongyang chestnut trees, offers opportunities to enjoy not only wild vegetables but also various foods at reasonable prices.

Also, to transform into an eco-friendly festival in line with the clean image of Yeongyang, plans include zero waste, reducing single-use items, running a carbon-neutral SNS campaign, and operating programs that combine environmental cleanup activities and trekking.

The “Starry Night Concert” held under the clear Yeongyang night sky and the making of 1,219 servings of wild vegetable bibimbap provide unique fun.

At Ilwol Mountain, with an elevation of 1,219 meters, you can breathe fresh air while harvesting fresh wild vegetables.

The joy of harvesting yourself combined with the clean air of Ilwol Mountain will allow you to enjoy the already delicious wild vegetables even more deliciously.

County Governor O Do-chang said, “Thanks to the efforts of our respected residents and the visitors who come without fail every year, we are already holding the 19th Yeongyang Wild Vegetable Festival. This year, residents, Yeongyang-gun, the Yeongyang Festival Tourism Foundation, and related organizations are all stepping up for a better festival than last year,” adding, “We hope you catch both health and happiness here in Yeongyang-gun this year as well.”
