Ministry of Science and ICT and KIST Hold the 1st Future Defense Strategy Forum
The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) held the first 'Future Defense Strategy Forum' on the 15th under the theme of 'AI-Based Battlefield Response Directions.'
About 200 officials from the public, private, and military sectors, including Chosunhak, Director of R&D Investment Review at the Ministry of Science and ICT, Jang Jun-yeon, Vice President of KIST, and the head of the Military Future Innovation Research Center, attended the Future Defense Strategy Forum to exchange diverse opinions.
This forum was held to analyze overseas trends such as the Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas wars, understand the current status of AI application on the battlefield, and discuss South Korea's future warfare response directions and civil-military cooperation plans.

Chosunhak, Director of R&D Investment Review at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, “Taking this forum as an opportunity, we hope to further expand civil-military cooperation so that excellent civilian scientific and technological capabilities can be applied to technologies that protect the nation and its people,” adding, “The Science and Technology Innovation Headquarters will actively invest in AI, one of the strategic technology fields.”
