SK Ecoplant Subsidiary Environmental Facility Management Changes Name to 'Reneus'
"Innovating Technology Leading the Circular Economy"
Expansion of Environmental Facilities, Water Supply, and Waste Energy Projects
SK ecoplant changed the name of its environmental business subsidiary, Environmental Facilities Management (EMC), to ‘Renewus’ on the 1st.
Renewus is a compound word combining ‘Re-New,’ meaning a new perspective on the environmental industry, and ‘Us, Earth,’ which carries the double meaning of ‘us’ and ‘earth.’ It embodies the commitment to create new value for the Earth by transforming waste into energy and resources through innovative technologies in the environmental field.

It will actively participate in high value-added environmental businesses such as environmental infrastructure construction and water supply projects to expand its business scope. The proportion of waste energy business, which utilizes waste heat and steam generated from incineration projects, will be significantly increased to improve the sales structure.
Synergy with SK ecoplant will also be strengthened. The two companies are collaborating to develop and apply innovative environmental technologies such as AI (artificial intelligence) incinerators, smart sewage treatment systems, and the waste logistics platform ‘Waeve’ at business sites. They will also collaborate in the field of environmental infrastructure construction projects.
SK ecoplant officially entered the environmental business by acquiring Renewus in 2020. It expanded its scope to general incineration, landfill, medical waste, water treatment, recycling, and collection and transportation, completing the value chain of the entire environmental industry. It has achieved results such as operating the largest number of water treatment plants in Korea (including consignment) and holding the No. 1 market share in general incineration.
