March 27 Low-Sodium Practice Education Begins... Introducing How to Use Doenjang Instead of Salt, Fermentation Workshop at Public Health Center Rooftop Garden
Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) started the low-sodium practice program "Light Na(Na)'s Table" on the 27th to encourage proper eating habits among residents.
In this program, a lecture was given on how to practice a low-sodium diet by appropriately using fermented sauces such as doenjang and soy sauce instead of salt.
After the theoretical education, a hands-on session of making jang (fermented paste) was conducted in the rooftop garden of the health center. Going forward, on May 2, the jang will be cut, and in November, the matured low-sodium doenjang and soy sauce will be distributed.
