The city will prioritize installing barriers at 79 entrances of major local riverside walking trails frequently visited by citizens, including Gyeangancheon in Cheoin-gu, Singalcheon in Giheung-gu, and Jeongpyeongcheon in Suji-gu. The vehicle barriers consist of the barrier itself, CCTV, and a remote control device. When a weather advisory such as a heavy rain warning is issued and the river water level rises to a point where human casualties are a concern, the disaster control rooms in the three districts will monitor the situation and operate the barriers.
Once construction is completed, 121 out of 475 riverside walking trail entrances in the area (as of the end of last year) will be equipped with vehicle barriers. There are currently 175 locations with manually operated barriers installed.
