The two companies plan to further expand their ongoing technological cooperation by sharing each other's expertise. The goal is to strengthen their competitiveness and lead innovation in battery cell technology.
The signing ceremony held at the SK Seorin Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, the day before, was attended by SK On President Lee Seok-hee, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Sung Min-seok, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Lee Jang-won, and Chief R&D Officer Ernesto Lasalandra, among others.

SK On and Ferrari began their collaboration by equipping Ferrari's plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) with SK On batteries. Since 2019, SK On has supplied batteries for Ferrari's first PHEV model, the 'SF90 Stradale,' and the convertible version of that model, the 'SF90 Spider.'
Last year, Ferrari's limited edition special series 'SF90 XX Stradale' and 'SF90 XX Spider' also featured SK On batteries. SK On also supplied batteries for Ferrari PHEVs '296 GTB' and '296 GTS,' which were released in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
CEO Benedetto Vigna said, "By joining forces, the two companies will promote mutual growth," adding, "Ferrari will further strengthen cooperation with SK On to pioneer new frontiers."
